CAIS 2024: Leaps & Stumbles
The 52nd Annual Conference of the
Canadian Association for Information Science
June 4-7, 2024
For more than forty years, Canadian information scientists and professionals have met to discuss the access, retrieval, production, value, use, and management of information. From those early days of examining computational ways of manipulating information through to investigations of information as communication, CAIS has provided a forum for presentation, discussion and debate.
CAIS conferences seek submissions related to any aspect of library and information science, particularly those which exemplify the leading edge of our discipline. Abstracts are refereed final papers are published in the proceedings and presented at the conference. Preference is generally given to papers that report research or debate underlying methodological/philosophical issues, rather than those that report on plans yet to be implemented.

Every year, the Association awards a special “Student to CAIS” prize for the best student-written paper. For more information about that prize, go to the Awards page.

ACSI 2024: Des sauts et des trébuchements
Le 52e congrès annuel de l’Association
canadienne des sciences de l’information
le 4 au 7 juin 2024.
Depuis plus de quarante ans, les chercheurs et professionnels de l’information canadiens se réunissent afin de discuter des questions relatives aux usages, au repérage, à la recherche, la production, la valeur, l’utilisation et le traitement de l’information. Depuis ses débuts, l’ACSI a pour objectif d’offrir un espace de discussion, de communication et de débats à ses membres.
Le congrès de l’ACSI est à la recherche de propositions portant sur tous les aspects de la bibliothéconomie et des sciences de l’information et en particulier de propositions posant un regard novateur sur notre discipline. Un comité de lecture examinera les résumés des articles proposés; une fois révisés et acceptés, les articles seront publiés dans les actes et présentés au congrès. Les articles rapportant des résultats de recherche ou traitant des débats qui sous-tendent des questions méthodologiques ou philosophiques seront privilégiés, plutôt que les articles portant sur des projets en cours de réalisation.
